Common Questions with Answers for the 2013 Friendship Paddle and

Pedal for Tara Haaland-Ford

  1. Q: When is the Paddle and Pedal?
    A: Saturday October 19th, but if you are a paddler, you will leave Friday the 18th to spend the night at the islands. Both the Paddle and Pedal will start Saturday morning and end at the Harbor for the Celebration of Life Party that begins when the paddler’s get in that afternoon.

  3. Q: How do I sign up to paddle if I have a boat, captain and team?
    A: Email Chris Chiarappa at: chris.mtc1@gmail.com and send a request for all team members to be members of the Shutterfly site with their email addresses at Friendship Paddle and Pedal
  4. Q: How do I sign up if I want to Paddle but have no boat or team?
    A: Email Chris Chiarappa at: chris.mtc1@gmail.com and request to be a member of the Shutterfly site at Friendship Paddle and Pedal and sign up under the ”Want to paddle need a team?” sign up sheet.
  5. Q: How do I sign up for the Pedal?
    A: Request to be a member of the Shutterfly site at Friendship Paddle and Pedal and sign up under the ”Bikers” sign up sheet.
  6. Q: How much money do I need to raise?
    A: The goal is $1000 if you raise more even better
  7. Q: How do I start raising money?
    A: Start emailing or sending out a fundraising letter. There is a use as is pdf or you can modify a Word document. Both located on: Friendship Paddle and Pedal
  8. Q: By what date do I need to sign up to participate for the Paddle or Pedal?
    A: We hope to have a good idea of who is participating by September 1, 2013 (Remember to sign up and wish Tara a Happy Birthday!)
  9. Q: How much money will go to Tara’s family?
    A: The Friendship Paddle is a 501(C) 3 non-profit organization and 100% of your donation goes directly to the family!
  10. Q: How can people donate?    A. They can give you money directly, they can mail in money to the Friendship Paddle office with the following information:                                     The Friendship Paddle, 920 Garden St. Santa Barbara, CA 93101 or

  11.  Q: How can people designate what paddler or peddler they are sponsoring on-line?  A: When a donor goes to the site and clicks on ‘Donate Now” they are taken to the PayPal link for The Friendship Paddle. If they already have a PayPal account, they log in and then completed my transaction. IMPORTANT. After they get into the Review Your Payment screen there is a small link “Name the Paddler you want to sponsor.” This opens up a box and that is where you designate paddler.
